What should a factory acceptance test (FAT) checklist include?

By I&R Group, Jiaxing. Reviewed October 3, 2026.

A factory acceptance test checks the machine against your specification before you pay the balance and before it ships. A solid FAT covers the nameplate and model, the electrical configuration for your grid, a run with your own material or an agreed test piece, safety and guarding, dimensions and tolerances, the accessories and spare-parts kit, and the documentation — all recorded on video with photos.

  • Nameplate and model match the quote; serial number photographed.
  • Electrical: voltage, phase and frequency set for your grid, for example 400V/50Hz or 460V/60Hz.
  • Run test with your material or an agreed test piece; record cycle time and output.
  • Safety: guarding, emergency stops and the certifications your market needs (CE, UL/CSA, NR-12).
  • Dimensions, tolerances and finish checked against the drawing.
  • Accessories, tooling and spare-parts kit present and listed.
  • Manuals, wiring diagrams and the signed test report, with photos and video.
