Buying direct can work when you can read the spec, verify the factory, run an inspection and handle the logistics yourself. An agent with an office in China adds factory verification, technical review, a factory acceptance test in person, and consolidated shipping, which is what prevents the expensive mistakes on a machine. You still buy at factory price; the fee buys control and someone on the ground.
